Forest trail

This is a beautiful view of a forest trail. It was a lot of work but came out so full of light.

Forest trail - Acrylic on canvas - 24x30in

On this painting the technique is:
Start with a light titanium buff background. Then throw some blobs of raw umber and blue (I think it was anthraquinone) at the bottom, which you make tear up with water, flip the painting upside down, and using gravity you create the vertical streaks, and then horizontal streaks by flipping the painting 90 degrees. I also added red but washed out most of it. Once the background was almost dry I added the foreground greens and reds keeping everything very fluid.
