Distant trees

The trick on this painting was to first paint a background using heavy paint with only vertical strokes using a big brush. That created tiny vertical ridges. Then, before it completely dried, a squirt of turquoise and a spray of water which made the paint expand through the ridges and slightly mix with the titanium white of the background. A very interesting effect.
