Jump to victory

A happy colorful painting of a horse and its rider on the final jump, winning the race.

Jump to victory - Acrylic painting on wood panel 20x20in
I used the mix of phthalo blue and green that I talked about in my previous post to make the cool teal background. I had previously textured the wood panel with coarse pumice gel. The coarse texture made the colors mix more randomly on the panel. I then applied magenta around the horse and sprayed the outer edge to make the magenta blend outward. Then on the horse I applied yellow, dried it, and then zinc white. I then used squirts of color both on the bottom to give movement, and on the top to simulate flashes of light, ribbons and confetti to celebrate the victory.
