It's hard to compete with the beauty of reality. Viruses up close are some of the prettiest organisms, especially when colored by a digital artist. Rybicki called them "organisms at the edge of life" because they are so tiny and simple, almost like molecules. And yet they mutate and reproduce by infiltrating cells and using the cell hardware (since they themselves lack cell structures and cannot reproduce on their own). Pretty cool stuff.
