Summer Poppies

Summer poppies - Acrylic painting on canvas 30x30in

Compared to the previous painting of poppies, I think adding the luminous hansa yellow to the earthy nickel azo yellow brought out the yellows in the grass. I also added teal in the background and squirts of blue and white to give movement to the sky (maybe insects flying). In the next one I will try to define the mountains using the teal in the middle of this painting and maybe add a village in the middle ground.
