Algae

"From the journal of notable phycologist Prof. Irene Thurman. 'We were lucky to photograph these algae at the mouth of the Taidi river during their reproductive season which lasts only a few hours every year. This picture shows the aureus sanguina spores being swept away by the current."

Algae - Acrylic on canvas (24x30in)

The algae is one more painting using phthalo blue and green which I find a perfect match. The background has a bit of cobalt teal. The spores are done with gold acrylic paint and some red to make them more interesting.
