The golf shot

The golf shot - Painting of a golfer - Modern art by Carlos Printe
The golf shot - Acrylic on canvas 48"x62"

A very vibrant expressionist painting of a golfer after shooting a golf ball. The concept of a golf ball is visualized through an outline of an oversized golf ball that covers almost the entire background of the painting. The golf ball trajectories add motion. And the movement is reinforced by the golf club leaning in the same direction as the trajectory lines.
The shape of the golfer is suggested by additional pockets of color and higher contrast with a very dark blue and white.
The composition is divided into rectangular sections of blue tones on the edges of the composition and a central orange and pink tone section.
I used various techniques in this painting, starting with a very fluid background using an acrylic watercolor technique, and then several layers of acrylic painted and knifed taking care to respect the boundaries of the sections, but merging them sometimes if it suited the style.
This is a very big painting at 62 inches wide.
