The paintings in this series are small decorative pieces for an upcoming show.
The trick to flat collage with acrylics is to wet the paper with water and use a thin layer of medium or varnish over it. It will dry nice and flat. Once dry you can paint over it.
I cut out some oversized stencils, and used the knife instead of a sponge to paint them, to give them a rougher look.
