Mahler's Adagietto

I had been wanting to do something with the photograph I took of the beautiful sculpture on the corner of the Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona.
I wanted to make the young woman representing music - my muse - stand out from the rest of the characters. In person, the woman is projecting out from the corner, so she does stand out when you are looking at it from the street. But in the photograph she was flattened with the rest of the figures. So I brought her out by coloring her with a soft pink and made the background recede with an unsaturated purple.
I tried enrobing her with music but it did not look that good, so instead I made the music blend with the background with a slightly lighter purple.

Mahler's Adagietto - Digital art

I spent more than two hours on this piece. This one goes to my mom who is recovering from surgery, hoping it gives her a lot of positive energy, to remind her of the healing power of music and art.
