Constellation - Mixed media painting

I finally got around taking a picture of this huge painting of mine that is hanging at a customer's office. It's a constellation of stars painted on a background of blue, silver, and gold enamel and oil, and the stars drawn in red with clear plastic cabochons on top. I also sprinkled and streaked powder pigment (the beautiful pure blue you see).

This was a fun painting and brings back a lot of good memories. It is a painting I did a couple of years ago in the studio of my teacher, Al Razza (You can see his art at www.razzadesign.com), before I started painting full time in my own studio. I owe him so much! I took my first art class with him. In a few months he had patiently taught me all the basics from zero. And during the years I studied with him he always let me explore and develop my ideas helping me along the way by correcting my mistakes and suggesting ways to expand my creativity. He is both an inspiring artist and a great teacher.
