Inspired by Master Z L Feng

Below are two landscapes I painted after visiting Z L Feng's gallery. You can see some of his paintings online here. I really like his watercolors. His style is loose like Zbukvic's but his paintings have an asian flair (look at the way the trees are painted and his choice of serene water landscapes). Feng's watercolors are also full of color. He also shares with other master painters the technique of using red gouache for the final touches. In his case he sprinkles red gouache to represent red leaves on trees. Zbukvic and Castagnet use them for traffic lights.

Fall foliage - Watercolor on Saunders (20x16in)

Autumn Sky - Watercolor on Saunders (20x9in)
Why is it that watercolor painting takes so long to master? And is that what makes it so addicting? One could make a lot of similarities to golf, another activity which I am also terrible at, but that I thoroughly enjoy.
